Good Merch is a trading name of ONBRAND Group. This policy explains what personal information we collect through goodmerch.co.nz, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
We’re committed to meeting our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020. If anything here is unclear, contact us at sales@goodmerch.co.nz.
1. What We Collect
We collect information at different points in the ordering process:
When you browse the site
- Standard website usage data: pages viewed, device and browser type, general location, referral source. This is collected automatically through our website and analytics tools.
When you request a quote
- Your name, business name, email address, and phone number.
- Details of the products and quantities you’re interested in.
- Delivery address.
When you submit artwork or branding details
- Your logo, brand assets, and any files you upload.
- Branding preferences (colours, placement, decoration method).
When you approve a quote and place an order
- Billing details and, if paying by card, payment information (processed securely by our payment provider, see Section 4).
- Purchase order numbers or internal reference numbers, if you provide them.
When you contact us
- Whatever you include in your message: name, contact details, and the content of your enquiry.
We don’t require you to create an account to request a quote, so we only collect what’s needed to process your enquiry and order.
2. Why We Collect It
We use your information to:
- Prepare and send accurate quotes.
- Confirm artwork and produce your order correctly.
- Process payment and issue invoices.
- Arrange delivery.
- Respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
- Improve the site and our product range.
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We don’t use your information for anything beyond what’s needed to quote, produce, and deliver your order, and to run the business responsibly.
3. Artwork and Brand Assets
Artwork and logos you upload are used only to produce your order. We don’t reuse your artwork for any other purpose, and we don’t share it outside the people directly involved in producing your order.
If we create mockups or visuals as part of preparing your quote, ownership of those is set out in our [Terms & Conditions].
4. Who We Share Information With
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only where needed to run your order or the business:
- Production and fulfilment partners: to produce and supply your branded products, some of your order details (product selection, artwork, delivery address) are shared with the partners who manufacture and decorate the goods. These partners are contractually required to protect your data and use it only to fulfil your order.
- Payment providers: card payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We don’t store full card details ourselves.
- Delivery and courier providers: to get your order to you, we share your delivery address and contact details with our courier or freight partner.
- IT and email service providers: tools we use to run the site, send quotes and invoices, and communicate with you.
- Legal or regulatory bodies: if we’re required to by law.
We only share what’s needed for each of these purposes.
5. Where Your Data Is Stored
Our website and business systems are hosted with providers who may store data in New Zealand or overseas, including in cloud infrastructure operated by reputable international providers. Where information is processed or stored outside New Zealand, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s protected to a standard consistent with the Privacy Act 2020.
6. How Long We Keep It
We keep quote and order information for as long as needed to fulfil your order, meet our accounting and tax obligations, and handle any warranty or dispute. Where we no longer need your information for these purposes, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it if it’s wrong.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to hold.
To make a request, contact us at sales@goodmerch.co.nz. We’ll respond within the timeframes required by law.
If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
8. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar tools to understand how people use the site and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Turning cookies off may affect how parts of the site work.
